I´m from Washington, D.C. where, at 3 years old, I set off on a life led by dance. In my artistic career I have performed for a wide variety of audiences in venues including the Embassy of Spain in Washington, The Library of Congress, the Organization of American States and various military departments in the US and the UK; as well as a musical tour of Bolivia in 2000.
I graduated from George Mason University with a degree in the Culture of Spanish Dance and I earned my master´s degree in Performance Studies from New York University.
But my true love has always been working with children. I have been a bilingual teacher of Spanish dance, ballet and creative movement for almost 13 years in the D.C. area, New York and Madrid. In 2000 I founded Danzamarina, a company of young dancers and musicians who performed for nearly 5 years in theaters, universities and festivals all around the Washington metro area.
I left all this to pursue dance in Spain, the land of my mother. All this led to the founding of Hello! Creative Movement in English in 2008, an original method designed for young children to experience bilingualism and a love for the arts, two components which have been fundamental in my own life since I was a little girl. My goal has been to create a fun and loving environment for kids to hone and develop their linguistic, physical and creative abilities. Since 2008 I´ve grown from having 3 students to having more than 200 and I now lead an excellent team of teachers from the UK, the US and Australia. I love every one of my students and their families, and I hope that you and your little one will come dance with us too!
Un abrazo,
Michele
